Fremont Central Park and Lake Elizabeth

Lake Elizabeth was developed in 1960.  The lake was dedicated to Fremont’s Sister City Elizabeth Australia on March 22, 1969.  It is located on 450+ acres and offers an 80-acre lake. Inside Central Park, you will find gorgeous views of Mission Peak Hills and Lake Elizabeth.  This park offers some amazing amenities for its guests such as a drop in picnic sites, children’s play areas, basketball, boat rentals, boat launches, fishing, skate park, and a seasonal waterpark.  It’s a great place to celebrate birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, family reunions and more. There are 6 Softball Fields, 10 Soccer fields, 18 Tennis Courts, an Aqua Adventure Waterpark, 2 Basketball Courts and a Golf course and driving range.  If you love the outdoors, this is a perfect place for you.

Aqua Adventure Waterpark

Aqua Adventure waterpark is open seasonally from May until September.  The hours open are posted on their website at https://goaquaadventure.com/ and should be checked before deciding to make a visit.  This great waterpark is open to the public and there are even seasonal passes, should you choose to make this a regular destination.  This park offers many attractions such as Roundabout River which is a lazy river where people can float and enjoy a nice current while hanging out in a tube.

There is the Oasis Pool is a nice wading pool that is perfect for the entire family to enjoy.  Of course, all of the attractions at Aqua adventure Waterpark are watched over by their trained lifeguards to keep everyone safe.

The Lil Squirts area is perfect for those little ones.  This fun-filled splash pad of full of showers, fountains and even a wet slide.

Bucket Bay is for children ages 3-7.  It offers a unique and fun play structure as well as an 800-gallon bucket.  And, the fortress of fun is a big hit for everyone in the group that is 48″ or taller.  Sorry, the little ones have to sit this one out. However, there are many other things to do in the park.  Most are for all ages and heights. This is a great park to visit with little ones for that reason.

Non-Motorized Boating

Are you not into busy waterparks but enjoy boating?  Boating is offered at Lake Elizabeth as well. There are paddle boats and life vests for rent on the lake that can offer a nice and relaxing ride.  This is a great way to take in the fresh air and enjoy the views and sites around you. These start at $12 per half hour. If you own a boat, there is a boat launch as well, however, there are no motorized boats allowed on the lake.

Dog Park

Have a dog?  There is a great Dog park here at Fremont Central Park and Lake Elizabeth as well.  The park consists of two separate areas for different sized dogs. Dogs under 14″ and dogs that are over.  There are water fountains, shade structures, and benches around the park for your enjoyment. Owners are expected to self-police the area and use at your own risk.  Dogs do not have to remain on a leash in the fenced dog park areas, but must be on a leash outside of these areas.

Fremont Central Park and Lake Elizabeth is a great place to get out of the hustle and bustle of San Francisco. If you’re looking for something a bit closer to nature, consider Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge also in Fremont.
